S.G. Griffin Camp, No. 10
Keene, N.H.

Named for Simon Goodell Griffin, who entered the war as a captain in the 2nd NH Infantry. He was transferred to the 6th NH in October, 1861, accepting the Lieut-Col position. He was promoted to colonel of the regiment in April '62, and served until May of 1864, when he accepted a promotion of Brig-General. He was discharged from service in August, 1865, and moved to Keene, NH after the war.

He was a member of the John Sedgwick GAR Post, No 4, of Keene, serving for a time as their commander.
