A Ceremony of Rededication took place at the Shirley, Massachusetts Civil War Monument on Sat., 12 June 2021. Seven Brothers from the NH Dep't, representing five of our state Camps, took part in the event, with the First Military District, Sons of Veterans Reserve, the Shirley Historical Society and other townspeople.

It was originally dedicated on Memorial Day, 30 May 1891, in a ceremony held by the George S. Boutwell GAR Post, No. 48, of Ayer [Fitchburg Sentinel, 6/2/1891, pg 7]. Vandals had damaged the monument in 2014, so a rededication was fitting following the necessary repairs.

The photographs below were submitted by Brother Boardman (Griffin Camp #10). Thanks Ron!
